It is a part of the Pittsburgh Metro Area and is located 12 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The population is around 28,000.

Robert Morris University

Moon Township is home to Robert Morris University.  It is spread across 230 acres and combines the best of a big research university and a small college.  RMU is ranked among the top universities in the country bu US News & World Report.  They actually have four schools offering a variety of degrees, majors and certificates.

Moon Township offers three golf courses.

Moon Golf Club is an 18 hole public golf course offering season pass memberships, golf leagues and they specialize in golf outings and events. Montour Heights Country Club is a private country club and golf course. Great for golf outings, weddings and events. Scally’s Golf and Training Center. Scally’s is open year round and includes Driving Range, Golf Shop, Golf Lessons, Par 3 Courses, Golf Leagues, Miniature Golf Course, Batting Cages, and much more.
